The Leadership Challenge — this is a frequent title used to describe the complexity of the organization and how to effectively deliver the required services and manage the many members required to deliver the services. Organizations are comprised of highly trained members and professionals with a wealth of knowledge and skills to an organization. Frequently their valuable assets are often overlooked and underused, resulting in underperformance of the organization and members who are discouraged and overworked. Further, leaders may struggle to get a handle on problematic issues when attempting to craft solutions without a real plan of action or system of evaluating effectiveness.
Academics Plus, Inc. empathizes with the organization. At the core of Academics Plus, Inc. is the mission “to educate for success.” When leaders and team members are successful, organizations are successful. This is possible when leaders embrace a systematic process for goal setting, planning, training, supporting staff and evaluating outcomes.
The Leadership Solution—– this is what every leader of an organization is seeking to solve: The Leadership Challenge. One major task of the leader of an organization is to identify the staff members who have a vested interest in outcomes. These staff members may be model employees, mid-level managers who are proficient with data or forward thinkers and idea producers. These staff members can be trained to be a part of the Leadership Solution.
The Leadership Team—-these are members of an organization who with training, coaching, and collaborative opportunities can work with leadership to develop the solutions needed to solve the challenges faced by the organization. The LT should consist of no more than 10 members who would meet on a regular schedule, weekly or no less than biweekly, with the leadership. In this meeting, team members would receive organization wide updates and other information relevant to the team’s operations. Team members would discuss areas of concern and share successes from their departments. Ultimately, the Leadership Team members serve as an extension of the organization’s leadership.
